Giving Ex-Combatants and Out-of-School Youth a New Start
Every young person deserves a chance to succeed in life. In Mindanao, years of separatist conflict have limited prospects for youth. Seeing few alternatives, many entered into the conflict or simply dropped out of school. As they try to make a new start, they need practical skills, access to jobs and an understanding of their responsibilities as members of a community.
The Education and Employment Alliance (EEA) in the Philippines enables youth aged 15-24 to be responsible, successful citizens. This includes training in highly sought after job skills, preparation for the workplace and strengthening of their academic skills to compete in a knowledge economy.
