Developing Skills for the Workplace
Egyptian youth deserve a chance to succeed in today’s economy. Yet many are denied that opportunity because they do not have the skills to compete. Consider that Egypt must generate 750,000 new jobs each year simply to keep unemployment rates constant. That means competition is stiff, and youth are the first to be affected. The Education and Employment Alliance (EEA) supports programs that help youth realize their potential as breadwinners, citizens and leaders.
Among other programs, EEA’s new system of Career Development Centers will work with business associations, human resources companies and universities to provide students with the skills employers demand and direct access to jobs. Traditionally Egyptian youth have lacked these services in Egyptian Public Universities.
